About the Morton Law Firm, PLLC
Ronald Morton formed the Morton Law Firm in 1997 after leaving his position as General Counsel for one of the largest employers in Mississippi. Morton Law Firm is a full-service law firm located in Clinton, Mississippi, near Jackson with a satellite office in Hattiesburg Mississippi. Providing a quality of representation most often associated with large downtown law firms, Morton Law Firm accepts representation in a full range of civil matters dealing with planning and administering estates, including business planning, estate litigation, guardianship and conservatorship litigation, probate, will contests, asset protection planning, Medicaid planning, estate planning, and elder law.

The Morton Law Firm provides quality, timely, and aggressive legal representation to its clients at a fair and predictable fee. Through its implementation and reliance on state of the art law office technology, the firm is able to provide efficient and timely service to its clients at accurately estimated costs. In fact, most matters are handled by the firm on a flat fee or percentage of success basis contingent upon results, giving the client certainty and predictability in their anticipated expense. The firm also frequently utilizes blended rates, value billing, and other progressive billing structures, rather than the traditional reliance on an hourly billing rate. Hourly billing encourages firms to be inefficient, and to delay completion of work, all to the client’s detriment.
At the Morton Law Firm, we don’t focus on or get paid for time spent; our focus is on results. By handling most matters with flat fees, our clients are able to measure the value of the proposed work and make an informed decision on whether to engage the work before engaging the lawyer. No surprises later when something takes longer than expected. With flat fee billing, the client is able to determine on the front end whether the work justifies the expense, and the lawyer has an incentive to complete the work as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality. The firm represents both individual and corporate clients of all sizes in civil matters throughout Mississippi and Louisiana. The primary focus of the firm is elder law, estate planning, medicaid planning, special needs planning, and business planning. If you are in need of legal representation, feel free to contact the Morton Law Firm to discuss your case.

What Makes Us Different?
Were you told not to bother applying for the Aid & Attendance Special Pension Benefit for Wartime Veterans because “no one ever gets approved?” Our firm’s 5 step process has been qualifying veterans and their widowed spouses for this valuable benefit for over a decade.
Worried about how your child with special needs will get proper care when you are no longer available to help? Our firm helps families provide financially for their special needs children without costing them their government benefits.
Our firm has a 5-step process to ensure that all the details of your loved one’s estate are handled with a minimum of delay. When it comes to Mississippi Probate, we literally wrote the book.
Other firms practice “Elder Law” as one of a dozen other unrelated practice areas without any recognized specialization. Our firm knows how to qualify people for public benefits while protecting as much of what’s theirs as the law allows, and we have the certifications and credentials to prove it. It’s what we do … It’s the only thing we do.
"My experience was unexpectedly easier than I imagined. It was very efficient with timely results. I have recommended your service to several close friends. I was that confident and pleased with my results. Unfortunately, I needed to use your help after the sudden passing of my wife in late 2013. Your help was invaluable. Thank you for your kind assistance."
